By Car:

If you're planning to drive to the Grampians Region, you can take the following routes:

  • If you're coming from Melbourne, head west on the Western Highway (M8) towards Ararat. It's approximately a 3-hour drive.
  • If you're coming from Adelaide, drive east on the Western Highway (M8) for about 6 hours.
  • From other parts of Victoria or neighboring states, plan your route to join the Western Highway (M8) towards Ararat.

By Public Transport:

If you prefer public transportation, you can reach the Grampians Region by:

  • Taking a train from Melbourne to Ararat, and then catching a bus or taxi to reach the Grampians. Train services are provided by V/Line, and the journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
  • Using a coach service. There are various coach operators that provide services to the Grampians from Melbourne, Adelaide, and regional towns. Check with the respective operators for schedules and bookings.

By Air:

If you wish to fly to the Grampians Region, the nearest major airports are:

  • Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine) - Located approximately 215 km from the Grampians. From the airport, you can hire a car or take a taxi to reach your destination.
  • Adelaide Airport - Located around 480 km from the Grampians. From the airport, you can rent a car or take a domestic flight to one of the regional airports near the Grampians.
