1. Sir Reginald Ansett

Sir Reginald Ansett (1909-1981) was born in Hamilton, a town located in the Grampians Region. He was an Australian businessman and founder of Ansett Airlines, which became one of the country's largest airlines.

2. Sir Macpherson Robertson

Sir Macpherson Robertson (1859-1945) was born in Ballarat, a city in the Grampians Region. He was an Australian entrepreneur and philanthropist, best known as the founder of MacRobertson's, a confectionery company. He was also a generous benefactor to various educational, medical, and cultural institutions.

3. Sir John Monash

Sir John Monash (1865-1931) was born in West Melbourne, which is close to the Grampians Region. He was an Australian engineer, military commander, and civil administrator. During World War I, Monash commanded the Australian forces on the Western Front and achieved several significant victories. He is widely regarded as the greatest Australian military commander.

4. Dame Nellie Melba

Dame Nellie Melba (1861-1931), born Helen Porter Mitchell in Richmond, Melbourne, spent a significant part of her childhood in the Grampians Region. She was an acclaimed Australian operatic soprano who became one of the most famous singers of the late Victorian era and the early 20th century.

5. Major Thomas Mitchell

Major Thomas Mitchell (1792-1855) was an early explorer of southeastern Australia. He led several expeditions across the Grampians Region in the 1830s, mapping and naming many of the prominent geographical features of the area.

6. Uncle Brien Nelson

Uncle Brien Nelson, a respected Aboriginal Elder, is associated with the region. He has been actively involved in promoting Aboriginal culture, education, and reconciliation efforts in the Grampians and surrounding areas.

7. John Landy

John Landy was born in the Grampians Region, in the town of Lismore. He is a former middle-distance runner who held the world record for the mile during the 1950s. He became the second man to break the four-minute mile and later became the Governor of Victoria.

8. Garry Lyon

Garry Lyon, born in Scotts Creek, near Hamilton, is a former Australian rules football player and media personality. He played for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) and has since become well-known for his media contributions as a commentator and television presenter.

9. Missy Higgins

Missy Higgins, born Melissa Morrison Higgins in Melbourne, spent part of her childhood in the Grampians Region in the town of Broxburn. She is a highly acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter, known for her folk-pop music and multiple ARIA award-winning albums.

10. Richard Armitage

Richard Armitage, born in Huncote, England, moved to the Grampians Region during his childhood. He is an English actor who has appeared in various television, film, and theater productions. Armitage gained widespread recognition for his role as Thorin Oakenshield in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" film trilogy.
